Job summary

East Valley Institute of Technology (EVIT) is seeking an Adult Basic Education Tutor to teach English, Mathematics, Science and History to adult learners in a flexible setting, including classroom, study room, library, online or hybrid formats.

This part-time role supports the main Mesa campus 1601 West Main Street with midday and evening shifts (2 positions). Compensation is $23.00 per hour under a grant funded program, with a student-centered approach to build skills and confidence.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid Arizona Department of Public Safety Identity Prints IVP Level 1 fingerprint card must be obtained prior to start date.
• Proof of immunization against or immunity to measles and rubella if born after January 1, 1957.

Responsibilities

• Teach English, Mathematics, Science and History to adult learners.
• Help students improve study, organizational, test-taking, note-taking, and time-management skills.
• Adapt instruction for classroom, study room, library, online or hybrid settings.
• Support students' academic success and potential.
