Job summary

Sylvania is seeking an Adult Basic Education Teacher for a part‑time, 10‑month position. Instruction will take place at Anoka Technical College, Anoka Ramsey Community College, and online, with some evening sessions possible.

• Lesson planning and instruction, conducting ongoing assessment, monitoring student attendance, attending staff meetings, collaborating with other staff, and keeping student records.
• Utilize cooperative teaching strategies during instruction, integrate technology into learning, and implement the CCRS/ACES/NorthStar standards (training available).
• Other duties as assigned.

Part‑Time 10 months / 169 days / 8 hours a day
Schedule: Monday through Friday; possibility of one to two nights per week
Locations: Anoka Technical College (ATC), Anoka Ramsey Community College (ARCC), and online.

Duties

• Provide direct instruction to adults in developmental‑level math courses at ATC and ARCC.
• Collaborate with college instructors to support students in class, separate support sessions, and through online learning platforms.
• Lesson planning and instruction, conducting ongoing assessment, monitoring student attendance, attending staff meetings, collaborating with other staff, and keeping student records.

• High confidence in math skills through college algebra preferred.

• Computer experience and comfort with MS Office (Word, Excel), Internet, email, and Google apps preferred.

Rate of Pay
