Job summary

Acera is seeking a Part-Time Math Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year to teach 4th grade elementary math in a student-centered, inquiry-based program. The teacher will build conceptual understanding, problem-solving, and confidence in math, aligned with Acera's constructivist approach and collaborative culture.

A Bachelor's degree is required (preferably in Mathematics or Education). Experience with differentiated, inquiry-based instruction for elementary students is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching 4th Grade math or similar elementary math courses.
• Strong knowledge of foundational mathematics.
• Experience with elementary students.
• Bachelor's degree in mathematics, education, or related field preferred.
• Experience with inquiry-based, constructivist, or problem-based instruction.

Responsibilities

• Design and teach engaging 4th Grade math lessons grounded in conceptual understanding and problem-solving.
• Help students develop a deep understanding of topics like operations, decimals, fractions, geometry, and data.
• Facilitate student-centered discussions and encourage multiple strategies.
• Incorporate investigations and open-ended problems to promote deep thinking.
• Differentiates instruction for a wide range of learners.
• Use formative assessment to monitor understanding and adjust teaching.
• Collaborate with colleagues and communicate with families about progress.
• Complete progress reports twice a year and participate in conferences.
