Job summary

Commonwealth of VA Careers is seeking a part-time 4-H program support staff in Greensville County and Emporia, Virginia. This hourly role (20–24 hrs/week) assists in planning, implementing, and evaluating youth trainings, programs, and activities, including after-school and camps.

Responsibilities include enrollment updates, visitor assistance, records handling, social media updates, volunteer recruitment, and public relations efforts to raise awareness of Virginia Cooperative Extension

Qualifications

Experience working with youth of all backgrounds.
Effective oral and written communication with youth and adults.
Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.
Ability to recruit, motivate, and engage volunteers.
Familiarity with Windows and Microsoft Office Suite.
Access to reliable transportation to and from worksites.

Responsibilities

Plan, prepare, implement, and evaluate trainings and activities for the 4-H program (after-school, in-school, clubs, camps, workshops).
Attend 4-H Junior Summer Camp and other duties as assigned.
Update and maintain 4-H Online enrollment and general records.
Greet visitors and assist the public with information and forms.
Manage program social media accounts regularly.
Assist with public relations to promote Virginia Cooperative Extension services.
Recruit and manage volunteers, and work with staff and partners.
Perform related work as required.
