Job summary

Christ the King Roman Catholic School in Denver is seeking a part-time Paraprofessional to support 1st grade classes for the 2026-2027 school year. The role runs from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm, Monday through Friday, and is non-benefit eligible.

The paraprofessional will assist teachers with classroom management, supervision, and basic instructional activities in alignment with Catholic faith and school policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; college coursework preferred.
• Paraprofessional education methods knowledge and training.
• Understanding of child development and classroom management.
• Ability to follow safety and emergency procedures and school policies.

Responsibilities

• Teach and act in accordance with doctrinal and moral teachings of the Catholic Church.
• Support 1st grade classes and provide enrichment opportunities.
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians, colleagues and principal.
• Participate in in-service and professional development programs.
• Cooperate with the principal and staff in meetings and activities.
• Maintain attendance and academic records according to school policies.
• Maintain a safe, orderly, and secure learning environment.
• Participate in annual performance reviews based on duties.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding school personnel and students.
• Follow procedures to ensure student safety and welfare.

We are seeking a passionate and energetic Paraprofessional to join our team at Christ the King Catholic School for the 2026-2027 school year. Our Paraprofessional will provide support in the 1st grade classes.

*This is a part-time non-benefit eligible position*

Schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am – 12:00 pm (Schedule is subject to change)

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Teach and act in accordance with doctrinal and moral teachings of the Catholic Church
• Know, teach, and act consistently in accordance with the mission, philosophy, objectives, policies, and procedures of Christ the King Catholic School
• Our Paraprofessional will support the 1st grade classes
• Provide grade appropriate extended or enrichment opportunities
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians, colleagues, and principal
• Participate in all Archdiocese of Denver in-service and training programs, and participate in all local school sponsored professional development and training programs and initiatives unless exempted or excused by principal
• Cooperate with the principal and staff members in school related meetings, activities, and projects
• Maintain accurate student attendance and academic records in accordance with local school policies and procedures
• Maintain a safe, orderly, and secure learning and work environment
• Participate in annual performance review based upon the implementation of the essential duties of the Paraprofessional
• Maintain confidentiality and discretion regarding school personnel, students, and general school matters
• Follow established procedures to ensure the safety and welfare of students
• Maintain required training, certification and/or credentialing
• Perform other duties as assigned by the school principal

Education and Experience:

• Requires a minimum of a high school diploma; some college or Bachelor's degree preferred
• Requires appropriate training, certification/licensing and/or credentialing

Competencies and Qualifications:

• Refrain from promotion or approval of, or the living out of, any conduct or lifestyle that would reflect discredit or disgrace on, or cause scandal in relationship to, the Archdiocese of Denver, or considered to be in contradiction with Catholic doctrine or morals
• Effective supervisory skills
• Effective listening and verbal communication skills
• Must have the necessary background and training in paraprofessional education methods and subject areas
• Must have understanding of child development skills necessary to relate to the students being taught
• Must have appropriate control and discipline techniques to successfully manage a classroomMust work cooperatively with school staff and administration
