As Good As Me is seeking a part-time nanny/mother’s helper for our 15-month-old son in West Boca Raton. The ideal candidate blends collaborative support with independent toddler care, maintaining a screen-free household and engaging activities.

Role involves three days per week, 8:00 AM–6:00 PM with 30 guaranteed hours, plus up to 5 extra hours. Must be legally eligible to work in the U.S. and able to drive when needed.

Qualifications

• Background in early childhood development or education preferred.
• Must know how to swim and be a confident swimmer.

Job description

A warm family in West Boca Raton is seeking an experienced, reliable, and engaging Part-Time Nanny / Mother’s Helper for their 15-month-old son. This is a long-term position for a family hoping to find someone who will become a trusted and consistent part of their household.

Mom is home most days, so the ideal candidate should be comfortable both working alongside an involved parent and independently caring for their toddler. While the role is collaborative, the nanny will provide independent care for much of the day, particularly while Mom attends appointments or handles other responsibilities.

The family maintains a screen-free household and values hands-on, intentional play and learning. Their son loves reading, music, walks, outdoor play, cars, and blocks. They are looking for someone who understands toddler development and will create fun, engaging, and age-appropriate days that encourage his continued growth.

The general schedule is three days per week, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 8:00 AM–6:00 PM, with 30 guaranteed hours per week. The family can offer approximately 5 additional hours per week for an exceptional candidate. Occasional evenings, date nights, or weekend hours may also be available with advance notice.

The position is located in West Boca and is available to start as soon as possible.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive, loving, and developmentally appropriate care for a 15-month-old toddler.
• Plan engaging, screen-free activities that encourage learning and development through reading, music, sensory play, outdoor time, and age-appropriate activities.
• Maintain the child’s daily routine, including meals, naps, play, outings, and bath/bedtime when applicable.
• Prepare simple, healthy meals and snacks for the child and assist with light meal prep.
• Handle child-related laundry and maintain organization of the child’s belongings and spaces.
• Provide light household assistance as time allows while keeping childcare the priority.
• Work collaboratively with Mom when she is home while confidently providing independent care when needed.
• Accompany the child and/or Mom to swim lessons, activities, and occasional outings.
• Occasionally drive the child using the family’s vehicle if needed.
• Maintain a highly safety-conscious environment, particularly around the family’s pool and nearby pond.
• If needed- ability travel domestically with the family approximately once per year.
• Provide occasional evening or weekend childcare when mutually agreed upon.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of professional nanny and/or toddler childcare experience.
• Strong knowledge of infant/toddler development, milestones, and age-appropriate activities.
• Background in early childhood development or education is highly preferred, but not required.
• Warm, patient, compassionate, playful, and genuinely enjoys working with toddlers.
• Active and energetic with the ability to keep up with a busy toddler.
• Proactive, organized, dependable, and punctual.
• Comfortable working both independently and alongside an involved parent.
• Strong communicator and comfortable collaborating with parents.
• Safety-conscious and highly attentive.
• Comfortable with light meal preparation.
• Must be a confident swimmer.

Requirements

• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant professional childcare experience.
• Pediatric CPR and First Aid certified or willing to obtain certification prior to starting.
• Must know how to swim.
• Must be a nonsmoker.
• Able to provide excellent professional references and successfully complete a comprehensive background screening.
• Comfortable working in a screen-free household and alongside Mom.
• Comfortable with occasional domestic travel.
• Available for a long-term commitment of at least one year.

Salary and Benefits

• $30/hour. May be flexible DOE.
• 30 guaranteed hours per week, with the potential for approximately 5 additional hours per week.
• PTO and paid sick days offered.
• Paid federal holidays when they fall on a regularly scheduled workday and the family does not require the nanny to work.
• Time-and-a-half pay if asked to work on one of the family’s designated federal holidays.
• Additional hours may be available for occasional evenings, date nights, or weekends.
• Family vehicle provided when driving the child is required.
• Occasional domestic travel; airfare, lodging, and meals covered by the family in addition to applicable compensation.
