Job summary

Burnham Commercial in Lancaster, PA is seeking a Parts Fabricator to prepare and fabricate parts for production and maintain inventory. Under limited supervision, read blueprints and use welding and cutting tools to meet quality standards.

The role operates Monday–Friday 6 AM–2:30 PM, with Saturdays as needed. You will move parts with cranes and a forklift and document heat numbers to support safe, efficient manufacturing.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required; 1–3 months related experience or training.
  • Ability to read blueprints and measure with precision.
  • Forklift license required.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and fabricate parts per production needs.
  • Maintain required levels of inventory.
  • Operate jib cranes, forklift, and overhead crane.
  • Follow ASME code on assemblies.

We are looking for a Parts Fabricator to join our team!

Under limited supervision, prepares and fabricates various parts for various phases of production and maintains required levels of inventory.


This is a full-time position located in Lancaster, PA. Hours are Monday-Friday, 6 AM - 2:30 PM; Saturdays as needed (maximum of two required 6 AM-12 PM)


Essential duties and responsibilities

include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


  • Uses blue prints when required to maintain tolerances when necessary.
  • Burns, shears, punches, drills, saws, grinds parts to be fabricated prior to assembly/sub assembly.
  • Transfers and documents code material heat numbers of parts when necessary.
  • Uses stud welding, mig and arc welding equipment to meet A.S.M.E. code on assembly/sub-assemblies.
  • Independently maintains adequate levels of inventory as directed.
  • Operates jib cranes, forklift, overhead crane to move/remove parts, assemblies/sub-assemblies from jigs, fixtures, worktable or work area as required.
  • Performs related work as directed commensurate with this or lesser rates labor grade.

Education and/or Experience

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret document such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.


Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractures and decimals. Ability to compute rates.


Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.


Computer Skills

Basic knowledge; ability to operate scanners


Certificates, Licenses Registrations

Forklift license


Other Skills and Abilities

Basic Blue Print reading; use and understanding of measuring devices.


Safety Requirements

Protective Footwear Ansi Z41 Class 75, hearing protection, safety glasses with side shields, neoprene/insulated gloves for filling LP cylinders and cloth or leather work gloves.
