Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is hiring Parole Agent 1 in the Scranton District Office to supervise individuals on probation or parole and guide their reintegration into the community. The role includes a 12-month training period with promotion to Parole Agent 2 upon successful completion.

This full-time position requires field operations, community outreach, treatment planning, and possible court testimony. Travel is required and telework is not available.

Qualifications

• Four years of paraprofessional experience including two years in paraprofessional social services, human services, corrections, or law enforcement.
• Two years of paraprofessional experience plus an associate’s degree.
• Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, law enforcement, legal studies, political science, behavioral science, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Learn to supervise individuals on probation or parole.
• Perform field operations using a state vehicle to meet with parolees.
• Coordinate with employers, counselors, and families to support progress.
• Develop and update supervision plans based on individual needs.
• Provide testimony and information during court proceedings related to supervision and compliance.
