Job summary

DeKalb County Government in Georgia is seeking an exempt Parks & Recreation project manager to design, coordinate, and supervise park projects across locations. You will work with contractors, in‑house crews, consultants, and other departments to ensure timely, quality results.

Responsibilities include staff supervision, scheduling, budgeting, site planning, and coordinating with public stakeholders. A bachelor’s degree and five years of lead experience in recreation and parks are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Parks & Recreation or related field required.
• Five years of progressively responsible experience in recreation and parks administration including lead or supervisory experience.
• Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience accepted.

Responsibilities

• Manages and coordinates staff and schedules; oversees timesheets and employee performance.
• Organizes and assigns work, monitors progress, and provides reports to management.
• Designs site plans for park projects and coordinates with contractors or in‑house staff.
• Communicates with the public and volunteers to resolve issues related to park projects.
• Manages Work Order System and uses GIS/CAD to support project planning and field verification.
