Job summary

The City of Midfield is seeking a well-qualified Parks and Recreation Superintendent to plan, organize, and administer recreational projects and programs for the city. The superintendent oversees upkeep of facilities and grounds to ensure safety and accessibility for citizens, while preparing and administering the budget and managing inventory.

Field visits accompany indoor office work, with guidance provided to subordinate staff.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• Experience supervising staff, delegating work, training, and giving performance feedback.
• Experience assisting with developing and monitoring budgets.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct, implement, and evaluate recreational programs, projects, and facilities; set goals and budgets; coordinate with staff on development and implementation.
• Prepare, monitor, and administer departmental budgets, review spending trends, and ensure expenditures stay within annual limits.
• Procure and manage inventory to meet operational needs across departments.
• Oversee upkeep and maintenance of city parks, sports complexes, facilities, and grounds.
• Supervise staff by assigning work, directing duties, and providing feedback and training.
• Perform general administrative duties, including reports, correspondence, and meetings to maintain documentation.
