Job summary

The Township is seeking a Parks Superintendent to plan, direct, and supervise the maintenance, operation, and improvement of parks, grounds, recreation facilities, and custodial services. You will lead maintenance staff, manage daily operations, and ensure facilities are safe, attractive, and efficient.

You will develop work schedules, coordinate capital projects, assist with budgeting, and ensure compliance with safety regulations using the CMMS system.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of municipal park operations, grounds maintenance, playground maintenance, and facility maintenance.
• Experience with budgeting, purchasing, project management, and municipal operations.
• Ability to supervise, motivate, and develop employees.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, schedules, and directs daily park and custodial operations.
• Develops maintenance programs for parks, fields, landscaping, and facilities.
• Oversees budgeting, procurement, and capital projects for the Parks Division.
• Ensures safety standards and records are maintained; responds to emergencies.
• Supervises and mentors Parks staff; conducts performance evaluations.
