Job summary

The Town of Wake Forest, NC is hiring for a Parks and Recreation maintenance role focusing on the upkeep of parks, ball fields, and recreational facilities. Responsibilities include mowing, field preparation, fence repairs, and basic carpentry or plumbing tasks as needed.

Candidates should have a high school diploma and be able to perform heavy manual work outdoors, with valid NC driver’s license preferred. Pesticide license is a plus. Background check will be conducted after offer.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the landscaping trade related to recreation field maintenance.
• General knowledge of work hazards and safety precautions.
• Working knowledge of building trades including electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.
• Ability to perform heavy manual work and work outside in varying conditions.
• Ability to operate equipment and follow oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain parks and ball fields by mowing, edging, and preparing fields for play.
• Repair fences, gates, and play area equipment as needed.
• Perform general maintenance on facilities and grounds.
• Drives and operates construction vehicles and other equipment.
• May lead a crew and supervise others on projects.
• Work weekend tournaments and events as required.
