Job summary

The City of Cooper City is seeking an entry-level Parks and Recreation staff member to oversee daily operations of city facilities and ensure patron safety. You will greet patrons, process registrations, and assist with programs and events, performing light maintenance as needed.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, be able to obtain Florida Driver's license, and be prepared to work a varied schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong customer service mindset and communication skills.
• Willingness to learn Recreation Computer Software.
• Ability to respond effectively in emergencies and maintain safety.
• Able to work with limited supervision and follow procedures.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of City facilities.
• Greet patrons and respond to inquiries related to Parks & Recreation.
• Process program registrations and related paperwork.
• Perform light custodial tasks and basic facility upkeep.
• Collect program and event fees and maintain records.
• Assist with setup, execution, and supervision of programs/events.
• Enforce facility rules and safety guidelines with courtesy.
• Monitor safety protocols and respond to incidents.
• Coordinate with supervisor on facility and program needs.
• Maintain accurate activity and attendance records.
