Job summary

Gateway Services CDD seeks a Parks & Recreation Assistant to maintain multiple District parks and aquatic facilities, assist with community programs, and support special events. The role requires following safety rules and reporting issues to supervisors.

Duties include maintenance, pool upkeep, memberships, and event support. Candidate should have a High School Diploma or GED with 2 years of related experience, be 18+, and able to obtain necessary certifications.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED plus a minimum of 2 years of experience in parks maintenance, recreation operations, facility maintenance, aquatic facility operations, customer service, or related field.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be a United States Citizen or eligible to work in the United States.
• Must pass a background check and alcohol/drug test.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, custodial, and upkeep duties at parks, facilities, and aquatic areas.
• Follow pool operations checklists and opening/closing procedures.
• Assist with member services, registrations, and records using district software.
• Maintain records of facility usage, pool chemistry readings, incidents, and first aid.
• Ensure emergency equipment and safety supplies are ready and functioning.
• Assist with program setup, events, rentals, and storm-related prep/cleanup.
• Support with answering questions about facilities and procedures.
• Perform parking enforcement and assist residents with inquiries.
