Job summary

City of Georgetown, TX is seeking a Parks and Recreation Director under the Assistant City Manager to plan, direct, coordinate, and manage a comprehensive Parks and Recreation system including facilities, programs, and operations.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's in a related field, seven years of progressive experience (five in supervision), CPRP certification, strong budgeting and grant skills, and capacity to build partnerships with the community and City Council.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Parks and Recreation Administration, Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field.
• Seven (7) years of full-time progressively responsible experience in parks and recreation administration.
• Five (5) years of supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides direction and vision to assigned staff in the operation of the department.
• Oversees development of policies, procedures and regulations for parks and recreation.
• Manages budgets, revenues, expenditures and cost-recovery goals.
• Oversees grants, applications, distributions and reporting.
• Represents department at City Council and Parks and Recreation Board meetings.
• Collaborates with community groups and partners to advance City goals.
• Supports emergency management operations and sheltering as needed.
