Job summary

Louisville Metro Government is seeking a Grounds/Facilities Supervisor to oversee maintenance crews, manage group and event setups, and enforce safety standards. The role reports under limited supervision and requires coordination of schedules and work orders.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Parks & Recreation or related field and at least one year of supervisory experience in parks or facilities management. A valid driver’s license and pesticide applicator license are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Parks & Recreation, Landscaping, Horticulture or related discipline.
  • One year of park or facilities management, landscaping, horticulture, forestry, or grounds maintenance experience, including supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff, processing employee concerns and problems, directing work, counseling, disciplining, and completing performance appraisals.
  • Coordinates, assigns and reviews work and establishes work schedules; maintains standards; monitors status of work in progress; inspects completed work assignments.
  • Enforces safety procedures to ensure safe operation of equipment and employee safety.
  • Transports workers, equipment and materials to and from work sites.
  • Plans, schedules and adjusts projects and work procedures to meet deadlines.
  • Receives and completes work orders for group and event set-up.
  • Performs related work as assigned.
