Job summary

City of Tracy is seeking an experienced Parks Planning Division Director to lead parks planning, development, and capital project management. The role requires coordinating multidisciplinary teams, translating complex information for management and commissions, and guiding staff through large-scale projects.

The ideal candidate will bring strong project management, collaboration, and communication skills, with a track record of delivering on time and within budget while balancing community needs

Qualifications

• Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture, architecture, engineering, parks administration/management, public administration, community development, construction management, or related field.
• Minimum five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience in regional and community planning, capital improvement project management, and/or parks and landscape construction.
• At least two (2) years in a supervisory capacity.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct, and coordinate parks planning and development activities.
• Oversee capital improvement program planning and budgets.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams with developers, consultants, and City departments.
• Prepare staff reports and present findings to City Council and commissions.
• Manage staff and oversee contractors to ensure project quality, schedule, and budget.
