Fort Bend County seeks a Parks Operator II to maintain park grounds, operate equipment, and support community events. The role includes vehicle and fence repairs, sign maintenance, and occasional emergency management duties as directed by county managers.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED and 2 years of related experience, with strong communication skills and the ability to follow instructions. This is a full-time county position with benefits.

Parks Operator II

• Mows grass, cuts and sprays weeds on county property.
• Repairs and replaces park signs and park equipment.
• Performs minor repairs to park vehicles.
• Operates heavy equipment as needed.
• Drives bus to and from special events to transport participants.
• Repairs and replaces park fencing and performs concrete work.
• Held financially responsible for equipment used and uniforms issued.
• Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma/GED
• 2 years job related experience.
• Ability to understand and carry out instructions; general working knowledge of and ability to operate required equipment. Good verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with others. Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner.

SALARY RANGE: $16.34 Min-$20.43-Hourly

CLOSING DATE: Upon filling position
