The Dix Park Weekend Operations Analyst leads and coordinates weekend park maintenance operations across multiple park locations. This position oversees a Weekend Support Team, a Park Maintenance Crew, and is responsible for small-scale park improvement projects, daily operational needs, and upholding park cleanliness standards.
Weekend operations span parks of all sizes and types across Raleigh, including high-traffic destination parks, community parks, neighborhood facilities, natural areas, trail corridors, greenway trailheads, and special use sites, with responsibilities ranging from routine maintenance and cleanliness to urgent weekend responses for service issues, event support, and safety hazards. This position may be expected to safely operate City trucks, PUV's, grounds and landscape equipment and heavy machinery on occasion.
The ideal candidate is self-motivated, dependable, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. This role is essential in ensuring Raleigh parks remain welcoming, safe, clean, and well cared for during peak weekend visitation.
The schedule for this position is typically Monday – Friday with working hours between 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Two weekends a month you will be expected to flex your schedule to conduct park inspections, provide staff oversite, training, follow up, and feedback to ensure the team is meeting park expectations and requests. Weekend work may include holiday coverage, special event support, and extended shifts when park activity and maintenance demands are high. This position serves and designates the primary weekend point-of-contact for park maintenance concerns, staff coordination, and service requests.
The Dix Park Weekend Operations Analyst supports PRCR’s efforts to maintain vibrant public spaces and provide exceptional experiences for all park users. The role includes ongoing coordination with Park Managers, Facility Supervisors, Horticulture, Natural Resources, and Community and Art Centers.

Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Education, Natural Resource Management, or related field; 1 to 3 years' experience in natural resource management, park operations or related work

Any equivalent combination of training and/or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be substituted

Work is typically performed in both an office or similar indoor setting, and outdoor environment. Employees may occasionally work in a vehicle.
Employees may occasionally work in extreme heat (above 100 degrees), around moving mechanical parts and loud noises (85+ decibels average over 8-hour working day such as heavy trucks, jack hammers, leaf blowers, lawn mowers, construction)
