These positions are technical work responsible for performing maintenance, repair, and construction of County parks, parks facilities, trails and open space within the Parks, Trails & Building Grounds. This position is part of the career path in the Park Maintenance field,
Qualifications, education and experience as it relates to the position will be taken into consideration when determining hiring salary.
Park Maintenance Tech I:Generally, the hiring range is $47,432-$59,290 annually.
Park Maintenance Tech II: Generally, the hiring range is $52,197-$65,246 annually.
This position comes with a $400 annual clothing allowance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (The following examples are illustrative only and are not intended to be all-inclusive.)
OTHER DUTIES:
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Does not have direct supervisor duties. This position may direct the work of Seasonal Parks Technicians as needed.
CONSEQUENCE OF ERROR: Develops solutions to standard and occasionally difficult problems that may impact the division or a specific work group. Consequence of error may result in some expenditure of resources to rectify.
CONTACTS: Contacts are primarily within divisions of the same department. Some outside contact may occur.
INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT: Ability to use experience and knowledge to make appropriate decisions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Park Maintenance Tech I:
Park Maintenance Tech II:
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend instructions, technical manuals, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively relay information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
REASONING ABILITY:Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Some knowledge of safety factors is required. Skill in the use of facility/park/equipment maintenance. Skill in the use of tools and equipment involved in maintenance and construction. Ability to operate pickup trucks, mowers, and tractors.
CERTIFICATION, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is generally performed outdoors in various weather conditions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
AVAILABILITY/ACCESSIBILITY: This position requires the incumbent to remain available via mobile cellular device/email access during and after normally scheduled business hours.

In the event of an emergency/disaster in or near the County, all County employees are expected to make every effort to be available to assist the County Manager, Elected/Appointed Officials and Department Directors to ensure the continued operation of any and all necessary County functions. This may mean being available to perform additional duties and hours beyond what is normally required. In the event that an exempt employee does work more than 40 hours a week in support of County operations during an emergency, such employee may receive overtime or other appropriate wage compensation in accordance with existing County policies or at the discretion of the County.
