Parks Maintenance Technician I - II

Employment Type: Full-time Temporary
Pay Range: $47,936.00 - $77,295.00

These positions involve performing maintenance, repair, and construction of County parks, facilities, trails, and open spaces. They are part of the career path in the Park Maintenance field. Qualifications, education, and experience will influence the starting salary.

Salary Ranges:

  • Park Maintenance Tech I: $47,432 - $59,290 annually
  • Park Maintenance Tech II: $52,197 - $65,246 annually

Essential Duties:

  • Inspect grounds and facilities, determine repair needs, and maintain records.
  • Supervise seasonal workers and volunteers in maintenance tasks.
  • Operate various equipment including trucks, mowers, loaders, and tractors.
  • Perform irrigation maintenance and repairs.
  • Construct and repair park facilities, including playgrounds, trails, and fences.
  • Perform snow removal and apply de-icing products.
  • Check and maintain safety of equipment and tools.
  • Perform general maintenance tasks such as turf care, landscaping, and infrastructure repairs.

Other Duties:

  • Respond to public inquiries.
  • Process paperwork and may direct lower-level staff.
  • Participate in on-call duties for emergencies and events.
  • Attend meetings and perform additional tasks as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities: May direct seasonal staff but does not have formal supervisory duties.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 6 months (Tech I) or 2 years (Tech II) related experience.
  • Ability to operate park maintenance equipment and possess a valid Colorado Driver’s License (Tech I) or obtain a Class A CDL (Tech II).
  • Physical ability to perform strenuous outdoor work in various weather conditions.

Work Environment & Physical Demands: Outdoors in various weather, involving lifting, operating equipment, and manual labor.
