Job summary

City of Bastrop in Texas is seeking a Maintenance Worker to help beautify parks and City properties. Under supervision you will perform routine grounds maintenance, inspect and clean facilities, and support other City/Public Works tasks as needed.

You must operate lawn care equipment, follow safety rules, and be available for on‑call, overtime, weekends, or evenings as required. The role requires mobility, endurance, and the ability to work outdoors in various weather.

Qualifications

• Six months to one year of work experience operating light-duty grounds maintenance equipment.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine grounds maintenance to beautify parks and City properties.
• Inspect, clean, maintain park facilities including restrooms and pavilions.
• Operate equipment such as mowers, weed trimmers, and pressure washers in a safe manner.
• Perform minor repairs and assist in other City/Public Works functions as needed.
