Job summary

Newport News Parks & Recreation is seeking an experienced Administrator of Parks Landscape, Grounds and Athletic Fields to lead landscape services, athletic field management, and grounds maintenance. You will oversee capital projects, safety, and compliance, reporting to the Assistant Director of Parks Development, Operations, and Animal Services.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in a related field and 5–7 years of related experience, with 3–4 years in a supervisory role.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
5–7 years of related experience.
3–4 years of lead supervisory/management experience.
Experience in parks maintenance, landscaping, athletic field management is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provides strategic and operational leadership for Landscape Services, Athletic Fields, Grounds Maintenance, and related park maintenance functions.
Develops short- and long-range plans, policies, procedures, performance standards, and maintenance strategies.
Directs maintenance, repair, improvement, and construction activities for City parks and athletic facilities.
Oversees turf, trees, landscaping, irrigation systems, and related public assets for sustainability and safety.
Establishes standards for field preparation, turf management, and maintenance schedules.
