Job summary
City of Virginia Beach is seeking a hands-on supervisor to coordinate landscape crews, overseeing concrete and asphalt repairs, playground installations, turf maintenance and related line items. The role requires supervising staff, ensuring safety, ordering materials, and maintaining records.
The position is full-time, outdoors in all weather, with a safety-sensitive designation and drug-testing. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and appropriate qualifications.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED plus two years of landscape/park maintenance experience, with supervisory responsibility.
- Experience in concrete/asphalt repairs, removals and installs preferred.
- Ability to operate landscape equipment and apply chemicals per safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate, supervise and train assigned personnel across landscape activities.
- Maintain and document inspections, orders and deliveries of materials.
- Prepare reports and daily work logs; respond to citizen concerns promptly.
