Job summary

Great Parks is seeking an Outreach and Land Acquisition Manager to lead agency-wide land acquisition efforts and support community engagement for master planning and capital projects in Cincinnati.

The role requires building partnerships with landowners, donors, and public agencies, coordinating with GIS and planning teams, and representing the organization at meetings, with evening/weekend participation as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in urban & Regional Planning, Public Administration, Communications, Community Development, Natural Resource Management, Real Estate, Land Use Planning or related field.
• Three years of progressively responsible experience in community or stakeholder engagement, land acquisition, conservation real estate, outreach and relationship management, or working with donors or estate planning professionals in a philanthropic context.
• Strong communication and public speaking presentation skills
• Ability to document identity and employment eligibility within three (3) days of original appointment as a condition of employment in compliance with Immigration Reform and Control Act requirements

Responsibilities

• Lead agency-wide land acquisition efforts and identify opportunities to further implement Great Parks’ strategic plans in the community.
• Provide leadership to the executive-level land acquisition and regional trails committees.
• Collaborate with landowners, donors, and representatives on goals, processes, and outcomes.
• Foster relationships with community stakeholders and ensure diligent completion and tracking of action items, follow up, and communication.
• Direct the administrative activities of the Planning Administrator in support of land acquisition and related records.
• Support conversations related to land gifts, planned giving involving real estate; ensure smooth handoffs and messaging.
• Assist with grant applications for land acquisition by gathering necessary documentation.
• Digitize and organize historic property records, integrating with GIS platforms.
• Serve as a key liaison for division-wide outreach, coordinating messaging and partnerships.
• Identify and build partnerships with land trusts, conservancies, and public agencies.
• Represent the organization at public meetings and site visits, including evenings or weekends as needed.
