Job summary

City of Kissimmee seeks a Groundkeeper to maintain public parks, athletic fields and facilities. Duties include landscaping, minor trades, pesticide application, shrub/tree care, and setup for events. Requires high school diploma or GED and 1–2 years in grounds maintenance, with a valid Florida driver's license.

Must be able to operate heavy equipment and perform physically demanding tasks. Work is outdoors in various weather conditions, with safety as a priority.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years of facility/grounds maintenance experience preferred.
• Must possess/maintain Florida driver’s license.
• FEMA ICS certifications within 6 months of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Performs landscaping, minor trades, pesticide application, planting and trimming of shrubs/bushes, tree removal/trimming.
• Completes assigned projects by foreman.
• Inspects City Parks daily.
• Maintains gas in all equipment.
• Assists with setup for special events.
• Repairs wood fencing in parks.
• Inspects playground equipment.
• Maintains equipment and weed eaters.
• Mows City parks.
• Performs restroom cleaning and trash pickup.
