Job summary

City of Marietta's Parks and Grounds division seeks a grounds maintenance worker responsible for mowing, trimming, planting and general site upkeep across city properties. The role reports to the division Foreperson and involves daily task assignments and team collaboration.

Must have 2 years outdoor maintenance experience, operate gas-powered equipment and a 3-ton dump truck, hold a valid Georgia driver's license, and pass a physical exam.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years recent outdoor property maintenance experience.
• Valid Georgia driver’s license with no DUI in the last 5 years.
• Ability to read, write, speak English and perform basic math.

Responsibilities

• Maintains city/BLW grounds: mowing, leaves, pruning, planting, trash removal.
• Repairs park facilities and paints as assigned; applies fertilizers and chemicals.
• Operates vehicles and equipment; secures materials on site.
• Assists in special events setup, cleanup, and maintenance shop duties.
• Reports equipment failures and keeps track of tools and gear.
• May lead probationers under the Community Service Program.
