Job summary

City of Wilmington, NC is seeking a Grounds Technician to maintain city parks, landscaping projects, and athletic fields. You will mow, weed eat, edge, prune, and perform janitorial tasks while interacting professionally with the public and staff.

You will also assist with event setups, keep daily records, and support other departments as needed. This role requires basic computer literacy and a Class C driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Read and understand written instructions; no experience required.
• Class C Driver’s License.
• Able to work before, during and after emergencies.
• Basic computer literacy for timekeeping and training.

Responsibilities

• Mow and edge lawns, weed eat, trim, clean facilities, water and fertilize, trash pickup.
• Assist with events by setting up for activities and helping with disaster cleanup.
• Open/secure facilities, operate alarms, lights, and sound equipment.
• Assist public with athletic team requests.
