Job summary

City of Greenville (SC) is seeking a Parks and Grounds Technician to perform inspection, maintenance, and installation across city parks, cemeteries, trails, and event spaces. The role includes storm recovery assistance and proactive safety reporting.

Responsibilities cover equipment operation, landscape tasks, and assisting with park projects and special events. A minimum of one year in landscaping or related work plus a valid SC Class D license is required.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 1 year of landscaping/grounds maintenance or related field.
Valid SC Driver's License (Class D).
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

Maintain parks: playgrounds, cemeteries, trails, shelters, fields and related amenities; inspect and maintain facilities.
Operate and service equipment; perform preventative maintenance.
Assemble/install park furniture, signage, and lighting; assist with structures.
Support special events: setup, teardown, and cleanup of events.
Identify and report hazards; ensure safety of people and property.
Perform other duties as assigned.
