Job summary

The City of Idaho Falls is accepting applications for a full-time Parks Maintenance Operator I. This position performs a variety of entry level, semi-skilled, and skilled maintenance tasks essential to the upkeep of City parks, City grounds, and playing fields.

This role requires availability nights, weekends, and on-call duties; responsibilities include grounds maintenance, equipment operation, irrigation maintenance, and event support including setup and teardown.

Qualifications

• Education and experience requirements include one year of related work or an equivalent combination.

Responsibilities

• Maintain parks grounds and facilities, including sports fields, courts, and trails.
• Operate equipment such as mowers, tractors, and irrigation systems.
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on park infrastructure and equipment.
• Assist with events, setup and teardown, including chairs, tables and signage.
• Clean and maintain restrooms, shelters and park facilities; monitor safety and cleanliness.
• Monitor and apply irrigation schedules, pesticides, and landscape maintenance tasks.
• Assist with snow plowing, ice melt, and winter maintenance as needed.
