Job summary

Northampton County is seeking a Groundskeeper in the Public Works Department to perform semiskilled grounds maintenance using light and heavy power equipment, and to maintain recreational facilities and equipment.

The role reports to the Lead Groundskeeper and Parks Foreman, with no direct supervision of others. A high school diploma and a valid driver’s license are required, along with a post-offer driving record check.

Qualifications

• Completion of a high school diploma or GED.
• Must possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator’s license.
• After offer, must pass motor vehicle driving record check.

Responsibilities

• Operates mowers to cut lawns and trim grass around trees and structures.
• Services and sharpens blades, performs basic maintenance on equipment.
• Cleans grounds, removes litter, and maintains trails and paths.
• Repairs and maintains facilities, including carpentry, plumbing, and electrical tasks.
• Assists with snow removal and seasonal maintenance as needed.
