Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited high school or acceptable equivalency diploma.
• 1-3 years experience in the trades specified or related vocational preparation.
• Ability to follow instructions and use sound judgment in routine and non-routine situations.
• Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods and under varying weather conditions.
• Proficiency in using tools and equipment required for the position.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine grounds maintenance: mowing, edging, weed eating, trimming, mulching, weeding, planting.
• Removes dying/diseased trees from City properties and right‑of‑way areas.
• Operates bucket truck to trim branches obstructing traffic or signs.
• Maintains and inspects ditch systems and submits inspection forms.
• Maintains and repairs playgrounds, shelters, benches, courts, and parks equipment.
• Assists with irrigation, pond and lake fountains maintenance and with heavy manual tasks.
• Loads/unloads heavy materials and operates various trucks and equipment.
