Job summary

The City of Roswell is seeking an Equipment Operator I to join the Recreation & Parks team in Roswell, GA. The role involves manual and light equipment operation as part of a crew maintaining parks, streets, and related facilities. Work is performed with moderate independence and requires physical effort.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma and two years of related experience; a GA driver’s license is required with MVR. CDL may be required for some assignments.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent; supplemented by two (2) years of previous work experience in construction, street or grounds maintenance, or related work; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
• Valid Georgia driver’s license with a satisfactory MVR; GA CDL may be required based on assignment.

Responsibilities

• Performs manual work within an assigned department, including grounds/parks maintenance, street maintenance, sanitation, or building maintenance.
• Operates a variety of light equipment and hand tools; assists with setup, cleanup, and safe operation of equipment.
• Communicates with supervisor and public; maintains equipment in good working order and completes forms or reports as needed.
