Job summary

City of Arvada is seeking a Parks Worker II to maintain parks and athletic fields, including turf maintenance, irrigation, and field setup for community events. The role supports safety, cleanliness, and the daily operations of our outdoor spaces.

The position requires a High School diploma or GED and 1+ year of park maintenance experience, with weekend availability and physical stamina to lift heavy objects and operate a variety of tools and equipment.

Qualifications

• Requires High School diploma or GED and related park maintenance experience.
• Experience with turf, irrigation, and equipment operation is preferred.
• Ability to work weekends/evenings and lift heavy objects as needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain turf and athletic fields including dragging, lining, painting, and setup for baseball/softball/soccer/football/lacrosse fields.
• Program and operate irrigation systems; perform maintenance on park assets and equipment.
• Assist with snow removal, trash/graffiti removal, and park safety duties.
• Supervise seasonal staff and volunteers; prepare parks for events.
