Job summary

Tillamook County's Parks Department seeks an Accounting Clerk 1 to handle routine financial transactions, receipts, and basic reconciliations. This full-time, Monday–Friday position offers 40 hours per week in an office setting. A high school diploma and at least one year of related experience are required, with a pre-employment

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 year of education or experience beyond high school in financial record keeping.
  • Must pass a pre-employment criminal history background investigation.
  • Knowledge of accounting procedures and terminology.
  • Ability to follow clear-cut procedures and interact courteously with others.

Responsibilities

  • Receive money, prepare receipts, and post payment to department accounting records or spreadsheet.
  • Review vendor billing packages to ensure the voucher is complete and that supporting documents are present.
  • Verify and input data into system to generate electronic bills. Use spreadsheets to track account receivables.
  • Identify “unknown” money or track missing payment entries when errors have a common pattern for resolution.
  • Reconcile bank statements against department records of payments, receipts, and deposits.
