Job summary

University of South Carolina is seeking a Laboratory Technologist I to provide technical support for NIH-funded Parkinson's disease research. You will perform routine lab procedures, prepare reagents and samples, and assist with tissue processing and molecular assays.

The role includes mouse colony management and maintaining accurate records. Under supervision, you will help with training students and coordinating daily lab activities to ensure efficient operations and compliance with safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biology or related field.
• Experience with mammalian cell culture, tissue processing, immunohistochemistry or immunofluorescence, Western blotting, PCR and other molecular biology techniques.

Responsibilities

• Perform established laboratory procedures and prepare reagents and samples.
• Support mouse colony management including breeding records and genotyping.
• Maintain equipment, inventory, and lab safety/regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate day-to-day laboratory activities and assist training of students and new personnel.
