Job summary

University of California, San Francisco is offering temporary Parking Representative opportunities for approximately three months. Positions may be based at Oakland or Mission Bay in San Francisco, with duties including valet, customer service, garage rover, traffic direction, and enforcement.

Under supervision, incumbents follow Transportation Department procedures and may serve as ambassadors for UCSF programs. Flexibility for short notice locations and overtime is required.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma/GED or equivalent
  • Valid California Driver’s License with clean driving record
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly
  • Ability to operate manual, automatic, and electric vehicles
  • Basic computer skills for valet operations
  • Perform basic mathematical calculations
  • Professional, courteous demeanor with the public, faculty, staff, and co-workers
  • Excellent attendance and punctuality

Responsibilities

  • Provide valet and customer service within the Transportation Department
  • Serve as ambassador/greeter for Transportation programs and services
  • Direct traffic and parking enforcement
  • Be willing to work at any UCSF location on short notice and overtime as needed
  • Adhere to department procedures and standards

Under general supervision of the Parking Manager/Supervisor, the Parking Representative will perform a variety of job functions within the Transportation Department. The primary job functions include valet, customer service ambassador, garage rover, traffic director and parking enforcement officer.

Under general supervision of the Parking Manager/Supervisor, the Parking Representative will perform a variety of job functions within the Transportation Department. The primary job functions include valet, customer service ambassador, garage rover, traffic director and parking enforcement officer.

The Parking Representative will act in accordance with departmental procedures and standards for the department’s daily operations and procedures set forth in the Transportation Department Operations manual. The incumbent will also act as an ambassador and/or greeter for Transportation programs and services as needed.

Parking Representative must be willing to work at any assigned UCSF location on short notice and must be able to work overtime as needed.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • High School diploma/GED or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Valid California Driver’s License and an excellent driving record required; no license restrictions other than for corrective lenses (applicants are required to present a current copy of their DMV record with their application/resume).Class C with CA DMW H6 Driving Record Report
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly and effectively
  • Ability to operate manual, automatic, and electric vehicles in and out of tight parking spaces quickly and efficiently
  • Possess basic computer skills for valet operations administrative duties
  • Perform basic mathematical calculations
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a professional, courteous, and efficient manner with the public, faculty, staff, and co-workers and to function well under period of stress.
  • Demonstrated record of exceptional attendance, punctuality, and excellent customer service.
  • Act in accordance with organizational policies, procedures, and standards.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two year valet and/or related parking industry work experience
  • Experience in customer service
  • Experience working in a health or medical center related environment
