Job summary

Straight Edge Contractors is seeking a Parking Lot Layout & Striping Technician in El Paso, TX. The role involves laying out new lots from plans, re-striping existing areas, and installing pavement markings to meet customer specs.

You will read site drawings, operate airless striping machines, and ensure accurate dimensions in varying weather conditions while adhering to OSHA safety policies. A valid license is required and overtime may be needed.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in parking lot layout and striping preferred.
• Ability to read construction drawings and striping plans.
• Experience operating airless striping machines is preferred.
• Strong measuring and layout skills.
• Knowledge of ADA parking requirements is preferred.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to lift 75 pounds.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to work overtime and occasional nights when required.

Responsibilities

• Layout new parking lots using approved site plans and construction drawings.
• Measure and mark parking stalls, ADA parking, fire lanes, crosswalks, loading zones, and directional markings.
• Re-stripe existing parking lots according to customer requirements.
• Operate striping equipment safely and efficiently.
• Install pavement markings, stencils, wheel stops, and traffic control devices.
• Verify dimensions and layout accuracy before painting.
• Read blueprints and parking lot striping plans.
• Maintain striping equipment and perform routine cleaning and maintenance.
• Load and unload materials and equipment.
• Assist with traffic control and job site setup.
• Follow OSHA safety requirements and company safety policies.
• Work efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
• Communicate with superintendents and project managers regarding field conditions and project progress.
