Job summary

The City of Appleton is hiring for a Custodian role within Public Works. The position cleans and maintains City-owned parking ramps and related facilities, removing debris, sweeping decks and lobbies, and assisting parking guests in a courteous manner.

Under moderate supervision, the successful candidate will follow basic custodial methods, work in varying weather, lift up to 30 pounds, and report facility issues to supervisors. Reliable attendance and driving license required.

Qualifications

• Limited custodial experience or equivalent
• Knowledge of basic custodial methods and procedures
• Ability to lift 30 pounds and work in varying weather conditions
• Valid driver’s license and a good driving record
• Ability to follow simple oral and written instructions
• Ability to interact courteously with the public

Responsibilities

• Removes litter and debris from parking facilities
• Sweeps, mops, and cleans parking decks, drive lanes, ramps, sidewalks, and lobbies
• Cleans and maintains parking facility lobbies, stairwells, elevators, and elevator lobbies
• Reports facility deficiencies, hazards, and maintenance needs to supervisor
• Provides courteous and appropriate assistance to parking guests
