The City of Northampton seeks a Parking Enforcement Officer to patrol municipal streets and parking facilities, issuing violations to violators according to city ordinances. The role requires interacting with the public, coordinating with the parking office, and ensuring compliance with regulations.

The position is part-time (19 hours per week) with a schedule including weekday afternoons and select evenings and Saturdays.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required with six months to one year of public interaction experience.
• Massachusetts Class D operator license is required.
• Parking enforcement experience is desirable.

Responsabilités

• Enforce parking ordinances by monitoring streets and lots and issue violations.
• Operate immobilization devices and arrange for towing as needed.
• Respond to complaints from the parking office and dispatch.
• Direct traffic when necessary and report equipment or signage issues.
• Provide daily activity summaries and follow established procedures.
