The City of Rosemead is seeking a Parking Control Officer in the Public Safety Department. This part-time role involves patrolling city streets, enforcing parking regulations, and issuing citations to violators.
Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of customer service experience; local government experience is a plus. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is required.

The examination process will consist of a competitive evaluation of qualifications based on a review of the Application and Supplemental Questionnaire; therefore, it is to your advantage to provide as much detailed and relevant work experience. The position works a variable work schedule with an average of 8 to 24 hours per week, and a maximum of 28 hours per week, limited to 1,000 hours per fiscal year and is "at-will". Candidates must be available to work all assigned shifts, including evenings, weekends, split shifts, and holidays.
Under general supervision, patrols assigned areas of the City enforcing parking regulations and issuing citations; assist in the removal of abandoned vehicles from City streets; maintains a variety of records; performs other related duties as required.

Must possess a valid Class C California Driver's License and maintain a satisfactory driving record. A valid California Peace Officer’s Standards and Training (POST) 832 P.C. Laws of Arrest Certificate is required within one year of hire.
Work is generally performed in an outside environment with potential exposure to variable weather conditions, traffic hazards, accident scenes, hazardous materials and chemicals, infectious diseases, and potentially aggressive/violent members of the public. May be required to travel to various sites, locations and/or events. Field work may include patrolling the City and conducting a variety of services. Team members are required to be in attendance and prepared to begin work at theirs and hours. Team members are required to assume the duties of a disaster worker in the event of a locally declared emergency.
