Job summary

UPMC is seeking a Parking Attendant to greet patients and visitors, safely park and retrieve vehicles, and support campus parking operations with a focus on service excellence.

You will assist with wayfinding, monitor equipment, and help ensure a positive experience for patients and families in a busy hospital environment. Rotating shifts and weekends/holidays may be required.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a busy environment with safety and attention to detail.
  • Able to multitask and work independently or as part of a team.
  • Professional, dependable, and punctual.
  • Valid driver’s license; clean driving record preferred.
  • Ability to drive a manual transmission is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients, visitors, and guests with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Safely park and retrieve vehicles following safety procedures.
  • Maintain vehicle records and securely manage keys.
  • Assist with traffic flow and parking operations across campus.
  • Operate departmental communication equipment and respond to service requests.
  • Provide wayfinding assistance and help guests navigate the campus.
  • Monitor parking equipment and replenish tickets/receipt paper.
  • Support employee transportation services, including a shuttle when needed.
  • Report vehicle damage, incidents, or concerns to leadership immediately.
  • Perform additional duties that support parking operations and service excellence.

Parking Attendant

Make a Difference from the Moment Patients Arrive

Join our Parking & Valet team and help create a welcoming experience for patients, visitors, and families. As a Valet Parking Attendant, you'll safely park and retrieve vehicles, assist guests with wayfinding, support parking operations across campus, and play an important role in providing exceptional customer service.

Schedule
  • Rotating shifts: 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., 11:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m., and 12:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
  • Combination of 1st and 2nd shift hours
  • Rotating weekends and holidays required
Responsibilities
  • Greet patients, visitors, and guests with professionalism, courtesy, and a positive attitude.
  • Safely park and retrieve customer vehicles while following all safety procedures.
  • Maintain accurate vehicle records and securely manage vehicle keys.
  • Assist with traffic flow and parking operations in designated valet areas.
  • Operate departmental communication equipment and respond promptly to service requests.
  • Provide wayfinding assistance and help guests navigate the hospital campus.
  • Assist with parking equipment monitoring and basic upkeep, such as replenishing tickets and receipt paper.
  • Support employee transportation services, including operation of a non-CDL employee shuttle when needed.
  • Report vehicle damage, incidents, or operational concerns to leadership immediately.
  • Perform additional duties that support parking operations and customer service excellence.

  • Professional, dependable, and punctual with a positive attitude.
  • Valid driver's license required; a clean driving record within the past five years is preferred.
  • Ability to drive a manual transmission is a plus.
