Job summary

University of North Florida is seeking part-time staff for Parking & Transportation Services to support events and daily campus operations. The role includes setting up event spaces, directing traffic, and monitoring parking areas to ensure safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Set up event locations prior to scheduled activities and assist with event breakdown, including the removal of equipment and materials.
  • Direct traffic flow as needed.
  • Monitor and oversee reserved parking spaces in surface lots and parking garages.
  • Operate and maintain Parking & Transportation Services equipment in a safe, responsible, and effective manner.
  • Provide professional customer service and effectively address challenging situations while following established University policies and procedures.
  • Communicate regularly with supervisors regarding operational updates, concerns, and event-related information.
  • Prioritize and complete assigned tasks efficiently, following supervisor direction and departmental needs.
  • Work a flexible part-time schedule, including daytime, evening, and weekend hours, based on event and operational requirements.
  • Maintain clear, professional communication with University staff, event organizers, vendors, and visitors to support successful event operations.
  • Assist with shuttle stop inspections and basic maintenance to ensure cleanliness, functionality, and a positive campus appearance.
  • Conduct routine safety inspections of event and parking areas, identifying and reporting issues such as lighting outages, damaged wheel stops, signage concerns, or other safety hazards.
