Job summary

University of California, Riverside's Transportation & Parking Services is seeking an Adjudication Officer to oversee the first-level parking citation appeals process and related resolution activities.

You will review appeals, apply campus policies, communicate decisions clearly to students, staff, and visitors, and support permit sales, data reporting, and customer service in a high-volume environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related area or equivalent experience.
• 2–4 years of related experience.
• Experience in parking operations, citation processing, and citation adjudication.
• Experience in customer service, cash handling, credit card transactions, and reconciliation.
• Experience using parking permit systems, citation systems, and web-based applications.
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience using database systems, DMV-related systems, or similar electronic records systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage first-level parking citation appeals and related citation resolution activities.
• Process and research parking citations, adjudicate first-level appeals, and support second- and third-level appeal processes.
• Maintain accurate citation records and coordinate with DMV and other external entities related to unpaid violations.
• Prepare citation, appeal, payment, and financial reports, including Riverside County and DMV-related financial reporting.
• Provide customer service and policy guidance regarding parking citations, permits, permit eligibility, payments, refunds, alternative transportation programs, and Transportation Services procedures.
• Perform permit sales and transaction support in a high-volume service environment (cash, credit card, web, refund, payroll deduction, student account, departmental transactions).
• Assist with parking operations, facility‑related concerns, data analysis, reports, special projects, and process improvement efforts.
