Job summary

New York State Parks, Recreation & Historic Preservation is seeking a Park Supervisor 2 to oversee maintenance and operations at Clay Pit Ponds State Park Preserve and other assignments as needed. You will plan projects, supervise staff, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance while coordinating programs and events.

The role requires supervisory experience, strong organizational skills, and a valid NY driver's license.

Qualifications

• EITHER 1) four years of experience in park maintenance/operation with one year in a supervisory role
• OR 2) an associate's degree or 60 college credits with two years described in No.1; one year in supervision
• Must possess a valid NY driver’s license and be able to lift and work outdoors in various conditions.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, implement, evaluate, and supervise park maintenance and repair projects.
• Inspect landscaped areas and buildings, identify repair needs, and coordinate corrective actions.
• Develop preventative maintenance programs and assess materials, equipment, and labor requirements.
• Coordinate logistics for programs and special events, including security, admissions, traffic, and cleanup.
• Operate park vehicles and power equipment and supervise staff in field activities.
• Prepare documentation, requisitions, and reports; supervise administrative duties and safety compliance.
