Job summary

The Park Slope Armory YMCA is seeking a part-time Pickleball Instructor to work with children and teens, promoting sport enjoyment and skill development. You will create progressive lessons, ensure safety, and foster a positive learning environment in a community-focused YMCA setting.

Required are a High School Diploma, at least 1 year teaching pickleball to youth, and current First Aid/CPR. Training in YMCA Coaching 101 and Heads Up concussion awareness is expected within specified timelines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of one year of experience teaching pickleball to children/teens in a structured setting.
• Current First Aid or CPR certification is required.
• YMCA Coaching 101 Training within 90 days of employment is required.
• CDC HEADS UP Concussion in Youth Sports certificate within 30 days of employment is required.

Responsibilities

• Develop age-appropriate, progressive pickleball lesson plans.
• Provide a fun, safe, and positive experience for participants.
• Supervise participants and ensure proper equipment safety checks.
• Communicate progress with parents/guardians and promote program opportunities.
• Collaborate with supervisor to meet session objectives and participate in meetings.
