Job summary

Johnson County Park and Recreation District (JCPRD) seeks a seasoned executive to lead the Safety & Outdoor Education Division, guiding outdoor education programs, facilities safety, and coordinated law enforcement services to support the agency’s mission.

Reporting to the Executive Director and Board of Commissioners, this role oversees staff, shapes strategic plans and budgets, fosters partnerships with municipal agencies, and advances community safety and engagement.

Qualifications

• Ten years of progressively responsible public service experience in park/recreation or related agency.
• Five years in field supervision in law enforcement with two years in command staff.
• Five years in programming and/or management in public service, park and recreation, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and vision for the Safety & Outdoor Education Division to achieve agency goals.
• Recruit, hire, train, lead, and develop direct reports; oversee strategic planning and budgets.
• Coordinate law enforcement services and safety programs; ensure program quality and safety.
