Job summary

State of Michigan is seeking a Park and Recreation Ranger to support Parks and Recreation Division facilities. You will assist the Unit Supervisor/Lead Ranger and perform maintenance, grounds, infrastructure, and equipment tasks.

The role includes training and guiding staff, maintaining safety for coworkers and the public, and obtaining the DNR Law Enforcement Commission. Academy attendance is required and may require overnight stays.

Qualifications

• Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Unit Supervisor/Lead Ranger in various administrative tasks with minimal supervision.
• Perform operational and maintenance duties consistent with the operation of Parks and Recreation Division administered facilities.
• Train and provide guidance to staff, maintain grounds, infrastructure and equipment, and perform other duties as assigned.
• regard their personal safety, as well as the safety of co-workers and the public, as their personal responsibility.
