Job summary

The Florida Department of Environmental Protection seeks an OPS Park Ranger for Little Manatee River State Park in Wimauma, FL. The role covers visitor services, maintenance, protection and resource management, with duties spanning interpretive programs, data collection, and administrative tasks.

Applicants must be able to work rotating shifts, including evenings and holidays, and possess a valid driver’s license. The position is full-time with wage of $15 per hour and state employee benefits.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Florida’s natural and cultural resources.
• Ability to operate a cash register and reconcile receipts.
• Ability to prepare accurate reports and maintain records.

Responsibilities

• Explain park facilities and services; assist visitors and provide information.
• Participate in preservation, vegetation and wildlife management efforts.
• Maintain park structures, facilities and grounds; perform routine inspections.
• Prepare forms and reports; handle purchases, receipts and cash handling.
• Conduct park protection tasks; enforce rules and ensure visitor safety.
• Perform other related duties as required.
