Job summary

The City of Parkland is seeking a Park Ranger to safeguard parks and assist visitors. You will enforce rules, provide information, and respond to incidents, working with Broward Sheriff’s Office as needed.

Applicants should have a High School diploma or GED, two years of related experience, a valid driver’s license, and FEMA 100/200/700 certifications, or the ability to obtain them within six months. Must endure varied weather and shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CPR, First Aid and AED certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• FEMA 100, 200, and 700 certifications or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Security or law enforcement background preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safeguard park areas, facilities and patrons.
• Enforce park rules and regulations with tact.
• Provide information about facilities and activities.
• Conduct scheduled park rounds for surveillance.
• Attend to emergencies and perform basic first aid.
• Coordinate with civic organizations and partner agencies.
